Betty Aasen (nee Brophy) is a self taught artist living near Saskatoon. Betty grew up on a farm east of Spalding, Saskatchewan. A rural upbringing is an inspiration for her artwork with the use of actual wheat stems and heads of wheat in some of her pieces.
Betty has donated to many charity organizations such as the SPCA and the Saskatoon Zoo.
Betty's use of plaster and metallic paints create a stunning effect. Her artwork has been showcased on stage at HomeStyles and in many show homes in Saskatoon.
Betty's hope is that her work will bring much happiness to others.
